How to Claim?
There are basically two ways to claim your airdrop:
In case you are eligible, you have received by now an email from airdrop@aptosfoundation.org with further instructions.
Another option is to check if you are eligible directly with Aptos. Simply log into the Aptos Community Platform to confirm your airdrop eligibility and claim your tokens: https://aptoslabs.com/foundation-airdrop
Since I haven’t gotten an email by Aptos, I checked by myself if I’m eligible. Following the link to the Aptos Community Platform, I signed in, connected my wallet and was informed that I’m eligible. Hooray!
Log into the Aptos Community Platform to confirm your airdrop eligibility and claim your tokens.
Quick Tips to Claim Your Airdrop
💡 Please read following tips carefully to make your claiming process as smooth as possible:
It seems that claiming via the Martian Wallet is a bit buggy, that’s why it’s recommended to use the Petra Wallet - the official Wallet by the Aptos Labs team!
In your wallet, mind to set the network to Mainnet!
You need gas to claim your airdrop:
Around the time of the announcement of the airdrop (October 19, 2022) it was possible to use the official faucet (gives real APT) by the Aptos Foundation to claim. At the time of writing it seems that this faucet has been already disabled - what has been announced via Discord on October 20, 2022. The faucet page says check back later, but I haven’t seen any status updates anymore.
I simply bought 1 Aptos Token via an exchange and send it to my Petra Wallet. The network fees were 0.007893 APT - what is approx. $0.05 and for a more than $1000 airdrop absolutely negligible.
Aptos is already listed on all major exchanges, so you should have not any problems getting 1 Aptos to cover the gas fees: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/aptos#markets
➡️ Note that there are currently no other airdrops or giveaways of Aptos tokens. Exercise extreme caution and only trust official sources and channels. Aptos tokens can only be claimed via the official Aptos' Community page with information provided in your eligibility email!
